About me...
Passionate about wild landscape, Robins ceramics are inspired by the atmospheric light and history of some of the most remote landscapes of the British Isles. Now living in Warwickshire, she has lived in Nr Ireland, Yorkshire and South Wales during her youth and now regularly visits Cornwall,Orkney and the Outer Isles.
‘Certain landscape, natural and human-caused, evoke deeply profound thoughts and feelings that alter the way I perceive ‘Place’, and my place within it.
The landscape provides evidence of past violent geological upheavals and rock formations that have churned through the crust of the earth and risen up to create cliffs, mountains, plains, hills, and valleys that we can walk through.
I can follow the history of landscapes that have been created by the constant erosions of rock structure by wind water and sun and enjoy carpets of rich plant life which dress the landscape in diverse colour and textures, lit by the changing light of seasons, time of the day, and the great variety of climatic environments.
Each landscapes providing unique habitats for a multitude of bird, insect and animal species to live in balance with the various plant cover specific to each location.
Landscapes that have been transformed by mankind since the emergence of our earliest ancestors enable us to connect to their way of life and reflect on the boundaries between present and past, impacted by many layers of human activity’
